Skaneateles Historical Society

SOLE PROPRIETOR PACKAGE

The Skaneateles Historical Society, like many not-for-profit organizations, needed a cohesive and consistent brand treatment. As the project continued, needs arose for updated newsletters, social media, and customized gift shop materials. The brand identity expands as the client’s needs grow over the course of time. This client started with a ShoeString package and grew to a Sole Proprietor package.

The color pallet for the SHS brand is presented in sophisticated muted tones of charcoals, soft New England Blues and grays.

This adds a level of elegance of positions the organization as something to be taken seriously as the brand comes together.

A wireframe was created to present the structure of the site and how it would behave for the user.

Large Splashes of images immediately bring in the viewer in the site with Calls to Action for ticket sales and visitor information.

The SHS newsletter presented an interesting challenge. The old newsletter was stodgy and very boring to look at, so the new one had to be bold and dynamic.

Typographic styles coupling historical hand rendered type with a modern san serif created a nice balance between the historical references and the new modernist approach.

TYPOGRAPHIC STYLES

Proxima Nova & IM Fell Pica pair nicely to create a beautiful harmony with past and present.

BUSINESS CARDS

Business cards printed on a high quality matter stock with rounded corners carry through the pairing of past and present, both in term so printing style but also typography.

The newsletter is now a fun to read engaging experience.
